Note. Political ideology is coded where higher numbers indicate more liberal orientation.

Finding: Individuals who are strongly identified with both their Mexican and Anglo American identities are the most liberal in our sample. Mexican Americans with weaker Mexican identification are significantly less liberal.
Figure 3 from publication.
Finding: Mexican Americans who are of a higher SES but have weaker Mexican identification are least liberal in our sample. There are no significant differences in political ideology as a function of SES among individuals with strong Mexican identification.
